Renault Clio: Heater plugs: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION

- Remove the air filter box inlet air pipe (1).

- Remove the turbocharger outlet air pipe retaining pins (2).
- Remove:
- the turbocharger outlet air pipe bolt (3),
- the turbocharger outlet air pipe
- Undo the clip (4) from the intercooler outlet air pipe.
- Move the intercooler outlet air pipe to one side (5).
- Remove the dipstick.

- Unclip the rail protector cover.
- Remove:
- the injector rail protector cover bolt (6),
- the injector rail protector cover nut (7),
- the injector rail protector cover,
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED

- Disconnect the heater plug connectors (8).
- Blow around the heater plugs with compressed air to
prevent contamination of the cylinders.
- Undo then remove the plugs using a 10 mm diameter
long socket connected to a universal joint.
Note:
Use a hose to unscrew the plugs completely.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
WARNING
Ensure that no foreign bodies enter the cylinder
during this operation.
- Torque tighten the heater plugs (15 Nm).
- Connect the heater plug connectors.
II - FINAL OPERATION
- Refit:
- the injector rail protector cover,
- the injector rail protector cover nut,
- the injector rail protector cover bolt.
- Tighten to torque:
- the injector rail protector cover bolt (8 Nm),
- the injector rail protector cover nut (8 Nm).
- Clip the injector rail protector cover into place.
- Refit the dipstick.
- Undo the intercooler inlet air pipe nut on the alternator.
- Fit:
- the turbocharger air outlet pipe,
- the turbocharger outlet air pipe retaining pins.
- Click into place the turbocharger outlet air pipe.
- Tighten the turbocharger outlet air pipe bolt on the
rocker cover.
- Torque tighten the nut mounting the intercooler
inlet air pipe on the alternator (8 Nm).
- Fit the intercooler outlet air pipe.
- Torque tighten the intercooler outlet air pipe clip
(5.5 Nm).
- Refit the turbocharger outlet air pipe.
- Fit the turbocharger outlet air pipe retaining pins.
- Refit the air filter box inlet air pipe.
K9K, and 750 or 752 or 766 or 768

REMOVAL
REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 80A, Battery).

- Remove the air filter box inlet air pipe (1).
K9K, and 750 or 768

- Undo the clip (2) from the intercooler outlet air pipe.
- Move the intercooler outlet air pipe to one side (3).

- Remove the turbocharger outlet air pipe retaining pin (4).
- Loosen the turbocharger outlet air pipe clip (5).
- Remove the turbocharger outlet air pipe (6).
K9K, and 766

- Remove the turbocharger outlet air pipe retaining pins (7).
- Remove:
- the turbocharger outlet air pipe bolt (8) on the rocker
cover,
- the turbocharger outlet air pipe.
- Undo the clip (9) from the intercooler outlet air pipe.
- Move the intercooler outlet air pipe to one side.

- Unclip the rail protector.
- Remove the rail protector bolt (10).
OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED

- Disconnect the heater plug connectors (11).
- Blow around the heater plugs with compressed air to
prevent contamination of the cylinders.
- Undo then remove the plugs using a 10 mm diameter
long socket connected to a universal joint.
Note:
Use a hose to unscrew the plugs completely.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
WARNING
Ensure that no foreign bodies enter the cylinder
during this operation.
- Torque tighten the heater plugs (15 Nm).
- Connect the heater plug connectors.
II - FINAL OPERATION.
- Refit the rail protector.
K9K, and 750 or 768
- Refit the turbocharger outlet air pipe.
- Fit the turbocharger outlet air pipe retaining pin.
- Torque tighten the turbocharger outlet air pipe
clip (5.5 Nm).
- Fit the intercooler outlet air pipe.
- Torque tighten the intercooler outlet air pipe clip
(5.5 Nm).
K9K, and 766
- Loosen the intercooler inlet air pipe nut on the alternator.
- Fit:
- the turbocharger air outlet pipe,
- the turbocharger outlet air pipe retaining pins.
- Click into place the turbocharger outlet air pipe.
- Tighten the turbocharger outlet air pipe bolt on the
rocker cover.
- Torque tighten the nut mounting the intercooler
inlet air pipe on the alternator (8 Nm).
- Fit the intercooler outlet air pipe.
- Torque tighten the intercooler outlet air pipe clip
(5.5 Nm).
- Refit the air filter box air inlet pipe.
- Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 80A, Battery).
