Renault Clio: Air distribution cable: Removal - Refitting
LEFT-HAND DRIVE, and AIR CONDITIONING or STANDARD HEATING
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Remove:
- the glovebox (see Glovebox: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 393, 57A, Interior equipment),
- the centre console (see Centre console: Removal
- Refitting) (MR 393, 57A, Interior equipment).
- Unclip the trim at (1) and (2) at the base of the dashboard.
WITHOUT NAVIGATION AID, and RADIO NO. 01
or RADIO NO. 02 or RADIO NO. 03 or RADIO NO.
04 or RADIO NO. 05 or RADIO NO. 06
- Remove the radio (see Radio: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 86A, Radio).
NAVIGATION AID 1
- Remove the radio navigation system (see Radio
navigation: Removal - Refitting) (MR 392, 83C,
On-board telematics system).
WITHOUT NAVIGATION AID, and VEHICLE WITHOUT
RADIO
- Unclip the glovebox using the (Car. 1363).
- Unclip the centre trim piece beginning with the upper
section.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the air conditioning control panel bolts (3).
- Move the air conditioning control panel to one side.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
- Remove the air conditioning control panel air distribution
control cable.
- Detach at (4).
- Move the bracket (5) to one side.
- Extract the ball joint (6).
- Unclip the cable sleeve stop (7) from the distribution
unit.
- Remove:
- the ball joint (8) on the distribution flap,
- the air distribution control cable.
Note:
Note the route of the air distribution control cable.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
- Refit:
- the air distribution control cable.
- the ball joint (10) on the distribution flap.
- Clip the sleeve stop (9) onto the distribution unit.
- Refit the air conditioning control panel air distribution
control cable.
- Refit the ball joint (12).
- Clip the sleeve stop at (11).
II - FINAL OPERATION.
- Position the air conditioning control panel.
- Refit the bolts (13) for the air conditioning control
panel onto the dashboard.
- Connect the central trim connectors.
- Clip in the centre trim piece beginning with the lower
section.
WITHOUT NAVIGATION AID, and RADIO NO. 01
or RADIO NO. 02 or RADIO NO. 03 or RADIO NO.
04 or RADIO NO. 05 or RADIO NO. 06
- Refit the radio (see Radio: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 86A, Radio).
NAVIGATION AID 1
- Refit the radio navigation system (see Radio navigation: Removal -
Refitting) (MR 392, 83C, On-board
telematics system).
WITHOUT NAVIGATION AID, and VEHICLE WITHOUT
RADIO
- Clip the glovebox in position.
- Clip on the dashboard lower trim.
- Refit:
- the centre console (see Centre console: Removal
- Refitting) (MR 393, 57A, Interior equipment),
- the glovebox (see Glovebox: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 393, 57A, Interior equipment),
RIGHT-HAND DRIVE, and AIR CONDITIONING or STANDARD HEATING
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
- Remove the centre console (see Centre console:
Removal - Refitting) (MR 393, 57A, Interior equipment).
- Unclip the trim at (1) and (2) at the base of the dashboard.
RADIO NO. 01 or RADIO NO. 02 or RADIO NO.03
or RADIO NO. 04 or RADIO NO. 05 or RADIO NO.

- Remove the radio (see Radio: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 86A, Radio).
NAVIGATION AID 1
- Remove the radio navigation system (see Radio
navigation: Removal - Refitting) (MR 392, 83C,
On-board telematics system).
WITHOUT NAVIGATION AID, and VEHICLE WITHOUT
RADIO
- Unclip the glovebox using the (Car. 1363).
- Unclip the centre trim piece beginning with the upper
section.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the air conditioning control panel bolts (3).
- Move the air conditioning control panel away from
the dashboard.
- Partially remove the seal (4)
- Remove the side panel (5)
- Remove the bolt (6) from the base of the dashboard.
- Unclip the trim piece (7) from the driver's side dashboard
lower cover.
- Remove the bolts (8) from the driver's side dashboard
lower cover.
- Take out the driver's side dashboard lower cover (9).
- Disconnect the connectors from the driver's side
dashboard lower cover (depending on the equipment
level).
- Lift the carpet to access the stiffener bolts.
- Unclip the fuse box (10) from the dashboard beam
stiffener plate.
- Remove:
- the bolts (11) from the dashboard beam stiffener
plate,
- the dashboard beam stiffener plate.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
- Remove the air conditioning control panel distribution
control cable.
- Disconnect at (12).
- Remove the bracket (13).
- Extract the ball joint (14).
- Unclip the cable sleeve stop (15) from the distribution
unit.
- Remove:
- the ball joint (16) on the air distribution flap,
- the air distribution control cable.
Note:
Note the route of the air distribution control cable.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
- Refit:
- the air distribution control cable.
- the ball joint (18) on the air distribution flap.
- Clip the sleeve stop (17) onto the distribution unit.
- Refit the air conditioning control panel air distribution
control cable.
- Refit the ball joint (19).
- Clip the sleeve stop at (20).
II - FINAL OPERATION.
- Refit:
- the dashboard beam stiffener plate.
- the bolts (21) from the dashboard beam stiffener
plate.
- Torque tighten the dashboard beam stiffener plate
bolts (21 Nm).
- Clip the fuse box (22) onto the dashboard beam stiffener
plate.
- Refit the floor carpet.
Note:
Check that the floor carpet reaches under the
accelerator pedal end-stop.
- Position the air conditioning control panel on the
dashboard.
- Refit the air conditioning control panel bolts (23).
- Connect the central trim connectors.
- Clip in the centre trim piece beginning with the lower
section.
RADIO NO. 01 or RADIO NO. 02 or RADIO NO. 03
or RADIO NO. 04 or RADIO NO. 05 or RADIO NO.

- Refit the radio (see Radio: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 392, 86A, Radio).
NAVIGATION AID 1
- Refit the radio navigation system (see Radio navigation: Removal -
Refitting) (MR 392, 83C, On-board
telematics system).
WITHOUT NAVIGATION AID, and VEHICLE WITHOUT
RADIO
- Clip the glovebox in position.
- Clip on the dashboard lower trim.
- Refit the centre console (see Centre console: Removal
- Refitting) (MR 393, 57A, Interior equipment).
- Connect the connectors to the driver's side dashboard
lower cover (depending on the equipment level).
- Refit:
- the driver's side dashboard lower cover,
- the bolts from the driver's side dashboard cover.
- Clip on the driver's side dashboard lower cover trim
piece.
- Refit:
- the bolts to the base of the dashboard,
- the side panel,
- the seal.

the heater matrix hose clips,
